Experience the power and potential of chair yoga in the safety of your own home
Our aim is to ignite your curiosity and imagination by showing how a single prop, a chair, can be used in so many ways, allowing for a joyful experimentation and exploration of body and mind. Many yoga postures can be challenging and difficult to perform without props, especially for beginner students.
As we all age, sooner or later our bodies become weaker. The chair helps build strength and mobility, as it is especially important to move our bodies and to breathe with awareness at any age. The use of a chair in a yoga practice will enable you to perform many types of āsana (yoga postures), even when the body begins to weaken, and especially so when walking and standing are challenged.
Our students are consistently thrilled by the versatility that this simple prop provides. The more we ‘play’ with it, the more options and variations are discovered. The variations and practices shared with you will be recuperative usages of the chair that can be done by anyone. They are intended, in particular, for more senior people, or for those that struggle from movement limitations. We look forward to working with you and seeing you on… the chair.
